Aaliyah Torres, Thuy Nguyen, and Mario Torres smile and celebrate their 3rd place finish at the Educators Rising National Conference in Orlando. The students proudly represent South Sioux City after competing in the JV Researching Learning Challenges event.

The students may be on summer break, but the learning hasn’t stopped! Our custodial teams across the district are in full swing with professional development, diving into best practices for summer cleaning and maintenance. Over the next two months, they’ll be hard at work preparing our buildings to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and students when they return. Wrapping Up the Year on a Positive Note! This morning, South Sioux City Middle School celebrated our final Student of the Month recognition of the school year and what a meaningful way to close things out! Students were nominated by their principals for demonstrating outstanding character, academic growth, a positive attitude, kindness toward peers, and grit. Each honoree was surprised with a special breakfast alongside their proud parents/guardians, followed by a heartfelt celebration in their honor. It was a joy to see so many smiling faces and to witness the pride and happiness beaming from their families. Congratulations to all of our honorees—you continue to make our Cardinal community proud!

State Bound! We’re proud to announce our South Sioux City Cardinals heading to the 2025 NSAA State Track and Field Championships Today! These incredible student-athletes have earned their place among the best in Class A, and we’re so proud of their hard work and determination. 4x800 Relay Team – Boys Running an impressive 8:16 and placing 4th at the District 4 Class A Championships, our relay team earned a wild card spot as the 6th fastest team out of all 4 districts! Congratulations to Luke McGinty, Leandro Magaña, Melchi Munzambi, and Melusi Ngeleka! Shot Put – Girls Congratulations to Zulema Godinez for qualifying in the shot put! Pole Vault – Girls A huge shoutout to Madelynn Bohnet, our first-ever Class A State Pole Vault qualifier! She broke the school record, cleared 10’8”, and had some amazing attempts at 11’2”! Way to go Madelynn and Coach Stephen Snyder! 200 Meter Dash – Boys Speedster Avan Salas will represent us at state in the 200m dash.
