South Sioux City Community Schools has launched a new informational website for the district’s 2026 facilities proposal and November 3 bond referendum.
The website is designed to give community members one place to find clear, current information about the proposal, including:
The projects included in the 2026 proposal
How the proposal has changed since May 2025
Tax levy information
Election and voting information
Frequently asked questions
A way to submit questions or comments
Following the May 2025 bond election, the district spent time gathering feedback from the community through surveys, listening sessions, stakeholder meetings and continued facility planning. That feedback helped shape a smaller, more focused proposal centered on the district’s most immediate needs: school safety and security, student capacity and aging facilities.
The 2026 proposal has been reduced from approximately $127 million to $95 million and includes a new K–4 elementary school, a new grades 5–6 intermediate school and security improvements at the district’s remaining schools.
The district will continue updating the website as additional information becomes available and as new questions are received from the community.
